Georgia O’Keefe Inspired Collage

Our class spent some time looking at work by Georgia O’Keefe. Using some of the borrowed skulls and bones from the science department, we did a drawing study of bones. Trying out various techniques including hatching, cross-hatching, stippling and blending still life drawing in our sketchbooks. Then we drew a contour drawing our favorite bone to draw for our collage. We then showed texture and shadows using various drawing techniques.

To prepare for the watercolor background we tried various techniques including: wet on wet, wet on dry, blowing, plastic wrap, using a straw and wax resist. We then painted the background for the bone collage.
